Quarterback Carson Palmer burst on the scene as he led the NFL in completion percentage (67.8) and passing TDs (32). He achieved the second best passer rating in the NFL with 101.1 as well. He earned his first Pro Bowl selection in just his second NFL season, which was tremendous until he got hurt early in the playoff loss to the Steelers.

Wide Receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh streaks past the Pittsburgh defense for a TD in the Bengals' biggest win of 2005, a road upset of the Steelers. He proved to be much more than a viable complement to Chad Johnson as he finished second on the squad in receptions (78), receiving yards (956), and receiving TDs (7) in 2005.
