Quarterback Donovan McNabb's season was ended abruptly after suffering a sports hernia against Seattle, but he was able to make due without the services of his top target, Terrell Owens, for most of the year. He had a passer rating of 85, threw 16 TDs vs. 9 interceptions and led the Eagles on a pair of game winning 4th quarter drives.

Wide Receiver Terrell Owens had a better yards per catch average in 2005 than 2004 as he averaged 16.2 yards per catch to lead the team along with the 763 receiving yards. Unfortunately for T.O. and the Eagles, his verbal remarks against McNabb were everpresent in training camp and during the season. These remarks would lead to him being suspended for four games, which turned into the remainder of the 2005 season for a total of nine games.

Free Safety Brian Dawkins delivers a hit to a scrambling Michael Vick of Atlanta. He earned a Pro Bowl selection for the fourth time in the last five years and fifth time overall due to his hard-hitting and continued leadership of the Eagles defensive unit. His hard hits caused four fumbles and he added three interceptions in 2005.
2005 Philadelphia Eagles Individual Statistical Leaders:
Passing: Donovan McNabb, 2507 yards, 59.1 comp. pct., 16 TDs, 85.0 rating
Rushing: Brian Westbrook, 617 yards, 3 TDs, 4.0 yards / carry
Receiving: Terrell Owens, 47 receptions, 763 yards, 6 TDs
Touchdowns: Brian Westbrook, 7 (3 rush., 4 rec.)
QB Sacks: Jevon Kearse, 7.5
Tackles: Jeremiah Trotter, 119
Interceptions: Sheldon Brown, 4 int., 67 yards, 1 TD
Points: David Akers, 71 (16 FG's, 23 PAT's)
Halfback Brian Westbrook runs to paydirt against the rival Redskins. He led the Eagles in yards from scrimmage (1,233) and rushing yards (617), while his 61 receptions tied L.J. Smith for the team lead in 2005. He once again provided headaches for opposing defensive coordinators who have to account for his ability to be to fast and alusive for linebackers to safeties to cover in space.
